KIM HAUGHIE
Ceramic Artist
Kim Haughie is an independent studio ceramic artist residing and working in Springmount situated in the beautiful central highlands of Victoria. Primarily she creates wheel thrown utilitarian pieces that are inspired by the natural world, exploring her sense of place and connection to the elemental.
Kim graduated with a Diploma of Ceramics at the Ballarat Federation Univerisity in 2010. In the same year she was invited to exhibit her work in South Korea and was awarded a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade travel grant to partake in the international group show and attend an extensive series of traditional pottery workshops. She has since developed a keen interest in eastern pottery traditions and has returned to South Korea and Japan several times, attending many workshops to further her education.
Kim also teaches private and group clay workshops to adults and children in the Daylesford region and is passionate about community arts engagement in providing an inclusive and supportive environment for others to learn.
Kim has exhibited extensively and her work is widely collected.
